-----The above Principles
of Team Play were originally outlined in the classic book by Allen Wade in
England around 1960. They have since been adopted around the world (including
the USSF), to help teach and analyze tactics. -----Tactical successes stem
from useful combinations of the above "Attacking Principles". Alternatively,
defensive failures often result when teams neglect the "Defensive Principles",
and cover improperly, lose their patience, and do not stay "compact".
-----The following highlight clips should provide examples of many "Team Play"
principles. Often times there will be several principles at work in each clip.
Great examples of Penetration will be
found in all the Thru-passes.
Support is evident in the
Double-Passes and Up-Back & Shoot.
Look for Width and Mobility in the
3rd Man Running clips.
Creativity is apparent with the
dummy steps, feints, tricks and flicks seen in many
of the clips. -----If you would like to own Allen Wade's book on
Principles ofTeam Play or his book on Systems of
Play, (Click Here). |

"ANTICIPATION - IMAGINATION - AWARENESS"
- Coach Wayne Harrison
(Author/Instructor/Dir.Coaching) on Recognizing the Moment
|
| The following highlight movie clips have been
rendered in Quicktime format - (.mov). Quicktime files are much more
efficient than Windows Media Player (.AVI) files and that allows for
smaller files and therefore a reduction in bandwidth usage. So, if you are
using Windows XP you may encounter difficulties with playback. However, it is
very easy and completely free to download a copy of a basic
Quicktime viewer, and see all the clips. It is a
great "user friendly" little viewer that you will surely enjoy. Or, as an
alternative, install or upgrade your Real Player viewer to Real One Player.
They also have a free version and can access (.mov) files.
